If God were to really answer all those multitudinous prayers & pointed supplications…by “eliminating” our enemies “tonight”…or the earth to “swallow” them up “now”…”by fire & thunder”…&/or…”destroy” them by “return to sender”…
…(Listen to me)…
….our spiritual experience would be drab, monotonous & lonely…
…devoid (suddenly) of victories won
…no testimonies of daily hallelluyahs to our God…
…no more “treading on serpents & scorpions & over all the power of the enemy…” (Lk.10:19-20)
…no more victory “that overcometh the world, even our faith”.
…& what a silly & fantasy world that would be !
As my father (T.I.Igene…of blessed memory) used to say…& I agree with him…
“…Lord, let my enemies live long to see my success & progress…let them see your great mercies & grace upon my life. Let them acknowledge that, indeed, you are the great God, worthy to be praised !
